Synopsis

As is stated in the core game’s solitaire rules, a threat . . .

“ . . . represents a looming danger, such as an environmental hazard, pursuing foe, or time limit. Each mission summary includes a description of a threat, and you can introduce a new threat in the midst of an expedition if you learn of an imminent peril.”

The core game’s solitaire rules suggest devising threats to expand an adventure, but not everyone has the time to actively design new threats for their game sessions. For that reason, I’ve created Additional Threats, a solo expansion that provides you with ready-to-play complications you can drop into almost any adventure. These new threats follow the format introduced in the official solitaire rules and should feel somewhat familiar.

The included threats are divided into six categories:

  • Outskirt - For threats that may occur when you’re visiting the quiet village.
  • Magna Woods - When you’re exploring – or simply making your way through – the forest north of Outskirt.
  • Iron Forest – These threats will come in handy when you are traversing the woods to the west of Outskirt.
  • Haunted Marshes – If you journey into the marshes to the east of Outskirt, these threats may prove useful.
  • Foot of the Mountains – Those who choose to adventure in the mountains may have to contend with one of these threats as they make their transition from the low lands into the mountains.
  • Deepfall Breach – The threats detailed under this category were crafted for those game sessions when you find yourself exploring a subterranean environment.

All of the above categories are merely suggestions and not set in stone. It is my wish that you use the included threats as inspiration and feel free to make whatever changes or adjustments you feel will best benefit your adventure.
