Synopsis

Most people in the south still remember fondly of the bard named Kael O'Rynn, for a bard’s songs and tales remain in the hearts and minds of those who had been lucky enough to hear them from the source.

Not too long ago, Kael used to tour the countryside with his two friends and co-musicians, making a name for themselves, but also quite a bit of coin. That is, until he fell in love with a lord’s daughter. Rumour says the bard weaved such an enthralling song for the lord that the old man was shaken to his core allowing Kael to take anything of his. Of course, Kael only asked for lady Moira Stowell’s hand in marriage, to which the lord immediately accepted.

The merry couple settled to a life in the forest mansion, gifted by the lord to live their lives in, make a family and slow down in their adventures. Retreating from the public eye and ear was somewhat expected, however, as years passed, no one has seen or heard lately of Kael, Moira, or even of their little daughter that the locals had heard they had been blessed with.

Nowadays, the mansion is left abandoned in the woods near the hamlet of Grimwick. However, not even bandits dare to go close, for dark shadows dance through its boarded windows and a creeping sense of unease overwhelms those who come near it…

A Melody in Shadows is an adventure module for Dragonbane / Drakar och Demoner. It introduces two sights for players to explore, a mansion and a crypt. Within those, multiple traps, riddles, creatures and NPCs await them to explore, solve or force their way through.

Players can find in this module:

• a plug&play adventure for any campaign with six adventure hooks to bring purpose to the questing- three riddles to solve or force through- two NPCs to socialize with and three new monsters to not do so- five new items with special abilities- improvised weapons, flavored to the locations- inter-connected locations to discover or fall victim to their traps
